Back on Day 5, we started this puzzle. Well we finally finished it this week. It was much more time consuming than we expected. And now I am just glad it is off of the table.

Quilt Blocks Part 5
This quilt doesn't actually belong to me, but my grandmother made if for my mother-in-law. It is my favorite quilt pattern, the double wedding ring.
Before and After
Skylar's room BEFORE I spent 4.5 hours cleaning, hauled out bags of trash, 4+ boxes of toys and clothes to donate.
The fruits of my labor...wonder how long it will last?

Quilt Blocks...A Series
This quilt covered my bed when I was a little girl. I can't even begin to tell you how many nights I spent under it.

Quilt Blocks...
Brian and I have a closet full of quilts. Some have been passed down from our families, and some were made especially for us. Some have rarely been used, while others are tattered from many years of use. This particular quilt was Brian's baby quilt. It is thread bare in places, and the batting is falling out, but it is a very special quilt.

Day 24
Today I had a special visit with a very special friend. Michelle and I have been friends since I was just a shy girl in 10th grade band with no one to hang out with at the required football games. Michelle to the rescue. We spent a lot of hours together over the next few years. We had good times and bad but we always remained friends. She stood beside me the day Brian and I got married. Over the years, we have somehow managed to stay in touch even though it has sometimes been years between visits. She moved across the country to Oregon, but we still get together when we can. It always feels like old times.

Day 22
Preparations are being made for the Fall Festival at church. I hit the motherload at Dollar Tree. I am very excited about my finds. It really makes me want to break out all of the fall decorations.

Day 17
This morning glory sprouted up in the flower bed behind the house. I am sure it won't be long before it takes over completely, but it really is very pretty and natural.
Day 16
Stephen loves building with Legos. He will spend hours making things and then taking them apart. He has researched designs on the internet and built things, but most of the time his creations come from his own imagination, like the safe pictured above.

Day 13
This is a cool red door located in downtown. I saw it in some of my niece's photos and had to know where it was. I foresee using it in some portraits in the future.

Day 9
So far I am having fun with this project though sometimes it is hard to come up with an idea of what to shoot. I got this idea from a site called Photo Friday, which posts a challenge each Friday. This week's challenge was "Reflect" and this is my interpretation.

Day 8
I attempted a picture of the moon tonight...I am not impressed with the results. I will be revisiting this shot after some research.

Day 6
It is starting to feel like fall, so this afternoon I went out and planted a couple of mums. I love the cooler weather and can't wait for the fall colors to start showing up.

Day 5
I have always enjoyed putting puzzles together. I remember as a child during the cold winter months, we would work several puzzles together as a family. These puzzles were usually 500-1000 pieces and involved some kind of landscape. There were beautiful fall foliage puzzles and majestic mountains and of course the near solid blue seascapes. Recently Brian purchased a couple of puzzles and we have been working them as a family. I hope my kids have fond memories of puzzle time when they grow up.

Day 4
Today is Brian's birthday, so it was only natural to make him the focus of today's 365 post. This picture was taken in his natural environment, relaxing in his recliner, laptop in hand, with a ballgame on tv. I hope he had a very happy birthday, and I pray he gets to celebrate many, many more birthdays to come.
I used my tripod and remote to take this picture as it was quite dark in our living room and I really didn't want to use the flash. This worked well with Brian as he was able to sit still, however it would probably be a little more difficult with the kids as the subjects, but I do intend to try it...maybe while they are sleeping.
